We welcome all to experience God’s love as seen in Jesus Christ, through worship, authentic relationships,
and meaningful work together,
and to promote peace and justice in the world.
Jesus is the heart of our faith, and because of Jesus we welcome everyone with love.
We value learning and spiritual growth. We ask questions, allowing for doubt and different interpretations of Biblical teachings.
We are a church exploring God’s abundant love for all. Through worshipping together, providing opportunities to learn, to serve, and building lasting and meaningful relationships, we are able to experience this love.
The Kirk is diverse in race, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identities, nationality, faith background, education, and abilities and we all join together to share our gifts and put our faith into action. We live normal lives and find our time together at The Kirk to be helpful in navigating a busy, stressful, changing world.
We are a congregation of people from all over metro Kansas City. Members and visitors attend from the neighborhoods close to The Kirk, from southern Johnson County, from Parkville and Lee’s Summit.
Some of our members have called The Kirk their church home for our entire history. There are newer members who have recently moved to the area and have made The Kirk their church community. The Kirk has members from South Korea, El Salvador, and Cameroon.
We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
